Learning on the Go: Introduction to Mobile Learning

Mobile LearningTeaching and learning are no longer constrained to the classroom. With mobile technologies like smartphones and tablets, students can access course materials from anywhere, and faculty can update materials or communicate with students without having to sit at a desk. Additionally, mobile devices often come with simple tools for creating multimedia content including audio, photos, and video. In this session, participants will learn about mobile teaching and learning, view content on a mobile device, and create multimedia materials.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Define basic properties of Mobile Learning
  • List common features of mobile devices
  • Identify obstacles to successfully implementing mobile learning
  • List several apps for common teaching and learning activities
